Michael is considered America’s foremost authority in the field of automobile license plates and motor vehicle registration/licensing systems.

A former New Mexico DMV public information officer, Michael has visited every state capitol DMV in the United States, as well as all manufacturing tag plants, both prison and private.

Wiener is a frequent reference source for motor vehicle departments, auto clubs, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies and TV/motion picture production. He has an extensive collection of over 50,000 license plates and is a 36-year member and two-term past president of the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA). He was recently profiled on HGTV’s “Offbeat America” television show.

A former Albuquerque city councillor and New Mexico state senator, Michael earned his B. A. in geography and sociology from the University of New Mexico.

John Northup

John is a license plate enthusiast and website designer from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

A 27-year member of the Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA), John owns the web development firm Bannister Design LLC, which produces the widely-respected license plate information portal www.licenseplates.cc. He possesses a comprehensive knowledge of vehicle registration practices in use throughout North America and beyond.

John holds a master’s degree in information science from the University of Michigan and an undergraduate degree in communications from Goddard College. Prior to entering his current field, he worked in law enforcement communications. He also serves as U. S. coordinator for the European Registration Plate Organization (Europlate).
